James Doty 
James was born on August 27th, 1728 in Plymouth Co., Plymouth, Massachusetts.1 James' father was Elisha Doty and his mother was Hannah Horton. His paternal grandparents were John Doty and Elizabeth Cook. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Elisha, Samuel, Edward, Paul, Stephen, Hannah, Hannah and Lois. He was the youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 57 on July 25th, 1786 in Plymouth Co., Plymouth, Massachusetts.1 General Notes

The will of James Doten of Plimouth dated 22 September 1785, proved 7 August 1786, names wife Bathsheba; James Doten the third, son to Stephen Doten; three sons of Stephen Doten's sons; brother Stephen exec. On 9 April 1788 Bathsheba Doten signe a receipt for her share. On 2 February 1805 the estate was divided between Susanna Doten, a minor and child and heir of James Doten 3rd, and to Stephen Doten, John Doten and the heirs of Joseph Doten deceased.
On 21 May 1815 Betsy Doten of Plymouth widdow of Joseph Doten late of Plymouth, mariner, deceased, gave receipt as the guardian of Joseph's children.
There were no children known to have issued from this marriage.
