Susannah was born about 1798 in FRANKLIN CO, VIRGINIA.1   Susannah's father was William Dodd and her mother was Rebecca Mead.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Dodd and Sara Sample. She had three sisters named Catherine, Elizabeth and Charlotte.  She was the youngest of the four children.1
