John was born in MOHILL, CO. LEITRIM, IRELAND.1   John's father was George Dobson and his mother was Mary Thompson.  His paternal grandparents were Francis Dobson and Margaret Deane. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Francis, George, Parks, William Henry, Eliza, Ellen, Fanny, Janie, Maggie, Marie and Rebecca. He had a half-brother named John James.  He died in MOHILL, CO. LEITRIM, IRELAND.1
