1   Barbara's father was Conrad Dilling and her mother was Elizabeth Brumbaugh.  Her paternal grandparents were Casper Dilling and Christina Puterbaugh. She had five brothers and seven sisters, named George, Conrad, Henry, Isaac, John, Catherine, Christina, Elizabeth, Mary Ann, Nancy, Sarah Ann and Susanna.1
