Helen Griggs was born on February 27th, 1867 in Montpelier, VT.1 Helen Griggs' father was Edward Dewey and her mother was Susan Griggs Lilley. Her paternal grandparents were Julius Yemans Dewey and Mary Perrin; her maternal grandparents were Gibbs Lilley and Susan Elizabeth Griggs. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, Theodore Gibbs, Julius Edward, Jessie Lilley and Margaret Louise. She was the third youngest of the six children.1 -
