Jan was born about 1533 in Antwerp, Belgium.1 Jan's father was Aert De Lichte and his mother was Katline's Wayers. His paternal grandparents were Peter De Lichte and Kateline Scheelkens. He had two brothers named Peter and Melchior. He was the second oldest of the three children.1 -
