Catherine Peternella was born on May 17th, 1882 in Sint Philipsland, Netherlands.1 Catherine Peternella's father was Marinus DeGraaf and her mother was Johanna Jocomina VerWys. Her paternal grandparents were Jan DeGraaf and Adrianna Faasee; her maternal grandparents were Abraham VerWys and Katherine VandeRee. She had five brothers and four sisters, named Jan, Abraham, Jacobus Johannes, Marinus, John, Janna, Laura, Anna and Nettie. She was the fifth oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 53 on November 4th, 1935 in Grand Rapids, Mi.1 -
