Helen was born in Columbus to John M. and Nellie Marie Curry.

She graduated from St. Francis Academy, Columbus High School, Nebraska State Teacher's College at Kearney, and Rosary College at River Forest, Illinois.  She also attended the University of California at Berkley.

She taught in the Omaha schools.

Helen lived in the family home on 15th street in Columbus for many years by herself after her sister Margaret died.  Helen was very faithful to her church.  She was a thin lady, always dressed in black, and walked every day all over town, until about two years before her death.
