Polly Ann was born in 1844.1 Polly Ann's father was Josiah Collins and her mother was Weltha Kennedy. Her maternal grandparents were Stephen Kennedy and Mary Holland. She had two brothers and two sisters, named James, Stephen, Eliza Jane and Elvina. She was the youngest of the five children.
