J. Curtis was born about 1831 in Kent, MD.1 J. Curtis' father was John Caris and his mother was Elizabeth Sapp. His maternal grandparents were Henry Sapp and Matilda Boosinger. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Henry F., M. Albert, Harriet and Mary M.. He was the second youngest of the five children.1 -
