Buroah was born in 1844.¹ Buroah's father was John Montgomery and his/her mother was Eliza. His/her paternal grandparents were John Montgomery and Anne Muse. He/she had three brothers and a sister, named Milton, Cyrus, Alpheus and Martha. He/she was the oldest of the five children.¹
