William was born on April 15th, 1844 in Quebec, Canada.1   William's father was William Bryce and his mother was Mary Brown. He had three brothers and six sisters, named William, William, Thomas, Philippa, Julia, Mercy, Martha, Sarah and Sarah.  He was the third youngest of the ten children.  He died at the age of 79 on December 8th, 1923 in Downers Grove, DuPage Co, IL.1
