John was born on April 7th, 1640 in New Haven, New Haven, CT.1   John's father was Francis Brown and his mother was Mary Edwards. He had three brothers and a sister, named Eleasor, Samuel, Ebenezer and Lydia.  He was the second oldest of the five children.1
