Daniel was born in Providence, RI.1   Daniel's father was Daniel Brown and his mother was Alice Herenden.  His paternal grandparents were Chad Brown and Elizabeth Unknown. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Jabez, Jeremiah, Jonathan, Judah, Sarah, Hosannah, Alice, Ann and Hallelujah.1
