Esther was born about 1675.1   Esther's father was William Brinton and her mother was Ann Bagley.  Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Brinton and Ann Biddle; her maternal grandparents were Edward Bagley and Ann Unknown. She had two brothers and two sisters, named William, Edward, Ann and Elizabeth.1
