Barbara was born in 1631 in Pomfret, Yorkshire.1   Barbara's father was Thomas Bradley and her mother was Francis Saville.  Her paternal grandparents were Henry Bradley and Barbara Lane; her maternal grandparents were John Saville and Elizabeth Carey. She had four brothers named John, Francis, Thomas and Saville.  She was the third oldest of the five children.1
