William was born in July 1885 in FL.1   William's father was Thomas A. Boyett and his mother was E. J..  His paternal grandparents were John Boyett and Sabra Sasser. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Charles R., Thomas S., James M., Fritzie, Sarah J., Laura L., Susan, Lillie and Sabra.  He was the third youngest of the ten children. He had two half-brothers and a half-sister, named Howell, John H. and Adeline.1
