John was born in 1630 in Salem, Essex Co, Massachusetts.1   John's father was William Bowne and his mother was Ann Unknown. He had three brothers named James, Andrew and Philip.  He was the oldest of the four children.  He died in Middletown, Monmouth Co, New Jersey.1
