Gertrude was born on December 6th, 1881.1   Gertrude's father was John Beurkens and her mother was Adrianna Oostdyk.  Her maternal grandparents were Cornelius Oostdyk and Gertrude Driesprong.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 73 on March 26th, 1955 in Grand Rapids, Mi.1
