Robert was born in 1614 in NewHaven,NewHaven,Conn..1   Robert's father was John Bassett and his mother was Margery Unknown. He had a brother and five sisters, named William, Sarah, Maria, Mary, Anna and Elizabeth.  He was the second oldest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 56 in 1670 in Hempstead,Queens,LongIsland,NY.1
