Joseph was born in 1711 in Hatfield, MA.1   Joseph's father was Ebenezer Bardwell and his mother was Mary Field.  His paternal grandparents were Robert Bardwell and Mary Gull. He had three brothers and six sisters, named Ebenezer, Jonathan, Jonathan, Remembrance, Ester, Mary, Abigail, Ester and Hannah.  He died at the age of 80 on June 1st, 1791.1
