Thomas was born about 1570 in Chellaston, Derby, England.1   Thomas' father was Ralph Bancroft and his mother was Alice Unknown.  His paternal grandparents were John Bancroft and Margaret Hollingsworth.  He was an only child.  He died on October 13th, 1626.1
