John was born about 1613 in Chippenham, Wilts, England.1   John's father was John Bailey and his mother was Eleanor Knight.  His maternal grandparents were William Knight and Jone Langburne. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Thomas, Richard, William, Robert, Johanna, Ann and Unknown.  He died in Newbury, MA.1
