William Of was born about 1158 in Of, Forfar, Angusshire, Scotland.1   William Of's father was Earl OfAngus Gillbride and his mother was Daughter De Dunbar.  His paternal grandfather was Earl OfAngus Dufugan. He had three brothers named Earl OfAngus, Earl OfAngus and Gilbert Of.  He was the youngest of the four children.1
