Josiah Adkins 
Josiah was born in Middletown, Middlesex, Connecticut.1 Josiah's father was Josiah Adkins and his mother was Elizabeth Wetmore. His paternal grandparents were William Adkins and Mrs Adkins; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Wetmore and Sarah Hall. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Solomon, Benjamin, Ephraim, Sarah, Abigail and Elizabeth. He had four half-brothers and a half-sister, named Thomas, Samuel, Andrew, Gabriel and Elizabeth. He died on November 1st, 1724 in Middletown,Middlesex,CT.2 General Notes

Josiah Adkins
William Adkins, father to Josiah is said to have come from Wales.
William settled in E. Hartford CT. Josiah Adkins is supposed to have been
the first of his family in this country; just what date is not exactly
known. If these two statements contradict each other it is because they
were taken from two diffenent sources. I have not made the effort to
determine which is true. I am satisfied that William is the father of
Josiah. Josiah, as may been seen from the family group sheet, was married
twice, as is shown by wills and records not quoted here. His first wife
was a sister of Edward Andrews (who was in Hartford as early as 1655), as
shown by said Andrew's will, 1673, and three of Josiah's children were
born of this marriage. His second union, on Oct. 8, 1673, was to Elizabeth
Wetmore, of Middletown. Previous to this time he had been in East
Hartford and Wethersfield, where his eldest son and daughter married and
remained, the second son going to Milford. This information taken from the
