William L. Addington 
William L. was born on September 9th, 1783 in Caswell County, North Carolina. William L.'s father was William L. Addington and his mother was Margaret Cromwell. His maternal grandparents were Wiilliam Lewis Cromwell and Chloe Kelley. He had a brother and three sisters, named Charles Cromwell, Martha, Elizabeth and Margaret. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died at the age of 73 on June 20th, 1857 in Scott County, Virginia. He was buried in Addington Cemetery, South of the mountain, Wise County, Virginia.General Notes
William Addington singed the petition to form Scott County, Virginia in 1814 as William Edenton. William was a blacksmith by trade and built and owned a wool carding mill near McClains's Fish Trap referred to in a later deed as Bevin's Branch, Benge Branch or Benge's Branch (AKA) Semones Mill. William's cause of death is listed as Melancholy.
