Rolen was born on March 14th, 1911 in Hamlin, TX, USA.1   Rolen's father was Jesse James Sumners and his mother was Blonda Nettie Summers.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 73 in May 1984 in Albuquerque, NM, USA.2
