Mary's father was Valentine Sr Peyton and her mother was Mary Butler Washington. Her paternal grandparents were John Peyton and Elizabeth Rowzee; her maternal grandparents were Bailey WASHINGTON and Catherine STORKE. She had two brothers and four sisters, named John Henry, William Washington, Catherine Storke, Jane Elliot, Elizabeth Washington and Margaret.-
