Samuel was born in 1776.1 Samuel's father was James Orr and his mother was Eleanor. His maternal grandparents were Samuel Parks and Elen Rippey. He had three brothers and five sisters, named John, Joseph, James, Elizabeth, Jane, Mary, Sarah and Eleanor.-
