Her paternal grandfather was Robert Orr; her maternal grandparents were William Peyton and Mary Roberts. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Samuel, William, Hannah, Susannah and Ann. She was the third youngest of the six children. She had a half-brother named William Peyton.-
