Eli was born on January 13th, 1844 in Marion, Arkansas, USA.1   Eli's father was John B Ingram and his mother was Mary Owings.  His paternal grandparents were Ingram and Nancy Womack. He had four brothers and two sisters, named James Harrison, Ephraim, Murray, Henry T, Mary Alice and Catherine Kitty.  He was the third youngest of the seven children.  He died at the age of 29 in 1873 in Marion, Arkansas, USA.1
