Mary Hammond 
Mary was born on November 15th, 1811 in Cavan, Ireland.1 Mary's father was Matthew Hammond and her mother was Ann Jane Madill. She had five brothers and three sisters, named James, Henry, John, William, Hugh, Margaret, Sarah and Jane. She died at the age of 78 on January 22nd, 1890 in Randboro Quebeec.2 General Notes
MARY2 HAMMOND (MATTHEW1) was born November 15, 1811 in Co. Cavan Ireland, and died January 22, 1897 in Randboro Quebec. She married JAMES HAMILTON March 26, 1832 in Hawksbury Ontario. He was born August 11, 1806 in Ulster Ireland, and died March 18, 1896 in Randboro Quebec.

From possible Hammond relatives a young lady name Crystal I learned that there is a Hammond Family that were neighbours to my Hamilton's in 1851 in Gore township. This may be Mary's family as they have an un-named female in their family line that appear to have similar birth dates but they do not have her first name.

This Hammond family immigrated to Canada in 1830, June from Co. Cavan Ireland. If this is the case I might find a marriage record for them in Quebec about 1831 or 1832. This would be nice as it would provide the link to parents and locations in Ireland of the parents.

I have viewed the listing for William Hammond in the 1851 census from the County of Two Mountains, the Gore of Chatham which lists James Hamilton and William Hammond as both being on Lot 1 Range 3 of the Gore of Chatham. In this listing it shows his parents Matthew and Ann in their eighties living with their son who has lost his wife, while there are 6 children age 10 or younger still at home. Matthew and his wife Ann were sponsors for William born to James and Mary Hamilton, baptism at St. Jerome. William Hammond is listed as moving to Compton County with James in 1865. A John Hammond is witness at James Marriage. This could be another brother of Mary's
