Inella's father was Joseph Seir Fulks and her mother was Mary Inez Hamby. Her paternal grandparents were John Fulks and Docia Barnett; her maternal grandparents were George Newton Hamby and Ann Eliza Lovell. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Orland Dewey, Onis, Eldon, Orlen, Lovie Christine, Eunice Lorraine and Olita Beryle.-
