Jacob was born in 1812 in KY.1 Jacob's father was Samuel Dennison and his mother was Hester Hetty Lay. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Dennison and Drucilla. He had five brothers and six sisters, named John, Marshall, Joel, Samuel J, William, Drucilla, Mary Ann, Emily J, Nancy, Sarah F and Agnes.
