William Wellford Randolph was born on February 20th, 1837. William Wellford Randolph's father was Robert Carter Randolph and his mother was Lucy Nelson Wellford. His paternal grandparents were Archibald Cary Randolph and Susan Lucy Burwell; his maternal grandparents were William Wellford and Susan R. Nelson. He had a brother and a sister, named Dr. Archie Cary and Betty Burwell. He died at the age of 27 on May 5th, 1864 in Battle of Wilderness.General Notes
Col. William Wellford Randolph. Married (1863) Ada Stewart, of King George Co., Va. He was killed at the battle of the Wilderness, May 6, 1864, and left one child, William Wellford Randolph, Jr.
