Ben Hill was born on October 5th, 1874. Ben Hill's father was John Adkins Brackett and his mother was Sarah Sewell. His maternal grandparents were Greenberry Sewell and Susannah Vaughn. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Jefferson Davis, John Adkin, James William, Edwin Moses, Daniel Felix, Thomas Andrew, Ari Salina, Sarah Samantha, Rose Etta, Emma Cordelia and Janie. He was the fifth youngest of the twelve children.-
