Gerhard I Count was born in 1057 in Of, LORRAINE, France.1 Gerhard I Count's father was Gerhard III (Iv) Lorraine and his mother was Hedwig von Namur. His paternal grandparents were Gerhard II Count von Metz and Gisela Countess von Elsass; his maternal grandparents were Albert I Count von Namur and Ermengarde (Adelaide) Prinzessin von Frankreich. He had a brother and a sister, named Thierry Duke von Alsace and Beatrice Prinzessin. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 61 in 1118.2 -
