Edward I " Long Shanks " Koenig was born on June 17th, 1239 in Westminster Palace, London, Middlesex, England.¹ Edward I " Long Shanks " Koenig's father was Henry III Koenig von England and his mother was Eleanor von Provence Berenger. His paternal grandparents were John "Lackland" Koenig von England and Isabella von Taillefer; his maternal grandparents were Raimund V Berenger Count von Provence and Beatrice von Savoie. He had two brothers and three sisters, named Edmund "Crouchback" Prinz, William, Margaret Prinzessin, Beatrice and Katherine. He had nine half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Edmund Crouchback Koenig, Richard Prinz, John Prinz, William Prince, Henry Prince, John, Richard, William, Henry, Beatrix, Beatrice Princess, Catherine Princess, Margaret, Katherine and Beatrice. He died at the age of 68 on July 7th, 1307 in Burgh-on-the-Sands, Near Carlisle, Northumberland, England.²
