John was born on April 8th, 1595 in Boxgrove, Sussex, England.1   John's father was Henry Peckham and his mother was Elizabeth Badger.  His paternal grandparents were Edward Peckham and Grace Samborne; his maternal grandfather was Robert Badger. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Henry, Robert, Thomas, William, Grace and Judith.  He died at the age of 86 in 1681 in Middleton, Rhode Island.1
