John was born about 1579 in Parham, Somersetshire, England.1 John's father was John Wiliam Palmer and his mother was Elizabeth Verney. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Palmer and Catherine Stradling; his maternal grandfather was Henry Verney. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, William, Walter, Abraham, Katherine and Sarah.1 -
