Asuncion was born on July 21st, 1898 in Tangancicuaro, Michoacan, Mexico.1 Asuncion's father was Pedro Torez Hernandez and his/her mother was Emerenciana Oceguera. His/her paternal grandparents were Pedro Hernandez and Jessie Torez. He/she had two brothers and five sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named Pedro Bernard, Juan, Maria Esperanza, Maria Carmen, Maria Salud, Mary, Lucille and Maurilia.1
