Barbara was born about 1832 in Germany.1   Barbara's father was George Kreiner and her mother was Catherine Wycke. She had three brothers and four sisters, named George, Frederick, Jacob, Catherina, Salome, Elizabeth and Magahlina.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.1
