John was born on November 30th, 1823. John's father was Nathan Tucker and his mother was * Sarah. His paternal grandparents were Nathan Tucker and Lydia Stevens. He had four brothers and four sisters, named Nathan, Peter Bartlett, Harrison, Levi W., Mary, Harriet, Harriet N. and Phebe Dustin. He was the oldest of the nine children.
