IV was born in 0676. IV's father was II Dagobert and his mother was Giselle De Razes. His paternal grandparents were III Sigisbert and Immachilde; his maternal grandparents are Bera II De Razes and Gislica. He had two half-sisters named Adela of and Regintrud.
