Winthrop E. was born on June 16th, 1816 in Chester, New Hampshire. Winthrop E.'s father was Abraham Sargent and his mother was Sarah Sanborn. His paternal grandparents were Abraham Sargent and Lydia Richardson. He had a brother and three sisters, named John G., Sarah, Lydia and Lousia M.. He was the second oldest of the five children. He had three half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Abraham, Moses Belknap, Isaac Clement, Sarah R., Mary, Lucinda and Lydia M. He died at the age of 78 on June 20th, 1894 in Randolph, New Hampshire.-
