Mariam was born on March 16th, 1775 in Bow, Merrimack, New Hampshire. Mariam's father was Willoughby Colby and her mother was Sarah Sargent. Her maternal grandparents were Phillip Sargent and Martha Hadley. She had two brothers and five sisters, named James, Philip, Hepsebeth, Sarah, Shirley, Judith and Sarah. She was the third youngest of the eight children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Willoughby and Polly Andres. She died at the age of 85 on June 20th, 1860 in Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.-
