Gilbert L. was born on June 30th, 1835 in New Hampshire.  Gilbert L.'s mother was Lucy Webster. He had six half-brothers and three half-sisters, named Isadore A., Irving A. J., George D., Monroe Everett, Elmer Ellsworth, William H. S., Marrietta, Lucille Adelaide and Arvilla A..

‌Gilbert L. and Theresa Jane were married in a religious ceremony on July 22nd, 1854 in Auburn, Rockingham County, New Hampshire.  They have two sons named Aurin O. and Josie Bell.
