Lauren John was born in 1909 in Wood County, Ohio. Lauren John's father was Bert R. Bateson and his mother was Emma May Chambers. His paternal grandparents were Harvey Bateson and Martha Jane Hillard. He had a brother and a sister, named Cecil M. and Freda L.. He was the second oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 33 in 1942 in Wood County, Ohio. He was buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Portage, Wood County, Ohio.-
