General Notes
According to William of Malmesbury, God finally punished him for his complicity in Alfred's death. As Godwine was dining with the King one day when the murdered Prince's name came up in conversation, Godwine apparently announced that he was innocent of any involvement in Alfred's death and proclaimed that God would prevent him from swallowing if his words were not true. He choked and became paralyzed and speechless on the second day of Easter 1053 and died 3 days later.
‌Godwin and Gytha were married in a religious ceremony about 1018. They had eleven sons and four daughters, named Swein or, Harold, Herbert, Morcar, Waltheow, Wulfnoth, Edwin, Leofwine, Gwrth or, Alfgar, Tostig, Edith of, Gunhilda, Gytha and Elgiva.

Harold Godwinson
Harold was born about 1022 in Wessex, England. He died on October 14th, 1066 in Killed at the Battle of Hastings. He was buried in Waltham Abbey (body now lost), Wessex, England.
