Thibaut I was born about 1010 in Blois, Loir-et-Cher, France.  Thibaut I's father was Eudes II De Champagne and his mother was Erengarde De Auvergne.  His paternal grandparents were Eudes I De Champagne and Bertha De Arles; his maternal grandparents were Robert I De Auvergne and Ermengarde de Toulouse. He had a brother and two sisters, named Etienne, Bertha and Almodis.  He died in 1089 in Tours, France.  He was buried in the collegiate church of Saint-Martin, Champagne, France.


Thibaut I's first family with Gersent of Le Mans

‌Thibaut I and Gersent of were married in a religious ceremony about 1045.  Their marriage was annulled.  They had a son named Etienne II Henri.


Thibaut I's second family with Alix de Crepi

They had a daughter named Cecily.
